In 1953, Hogan began building golf clubs in Fort Worth, Texas. In business as in golf, the man's quest for perfection meant making golf clubs one at a time. Hogan's vision for his golf equipment, in his own words, is to "be as near perfect as modern day tools and instruments can perform."

In the early years of its existence, the Ben Hogan Golf Company would carve out a name for itself particularly when it comes to shaft design.
