Bored with Playing Golf? Make Golf Club Covers!Isn't it neat if you can make your own golf club covers? It's not that you can't afford to buy yourself a new one. This stuff doesn't really cost much. Besides, they are available in all shapes, sizes and materials. But what if you want to be funky? A Golf club cover is usually 12-13 inches long and offers excellent protection for all types of clubs. If you own a graphite golf shaft, however, you need a special kind of cover that provides extra protection. These are called Ultras. Now back to making your own club cover. Any busy golfer will appreciate a nice stuff like this. It protects the club and keeps it away from its worst enemy: moisture. Let's say you want a cover done for your driver, the biggest of all your clubs. This is how you do it. You first decide what kind of fabric you wish to use: denim, duck canvas, vinyl, upholstery, etc. The supplies that you need are one yard of fabric and lining, and a matching thread. You will need a pattern piece for the front and back covers, as well as a side piece. The size of these patterns will depend on the size of the golf club you need to fit. You will also need a lining for each side (front, back, and side). You can take the patterns once they are cut in the appropriate sizes to a professional with sewing machine. If you explain what you are trying to do it will be very easy for even your local neighborhood alteration shop to do the job. You may also want some embroidery done on your project, although this is optional. If you own a dog and have done a shirt or two for your pet before, it is pretty much the same in principle.
